Cincinnati Bengals football player Chris Henry has died, police in Charlotte, North Carolina, confirmed Thursday.

Henry suffered “life-threatening injuries” after falling out of the bed of a pickup during a fight with his fiancee, police said earlier.

The incident occurred shortly before noon Wednesday when Henry’s fiancee tried to drive off during a “domestic situation,” only to have Henry jump into the bed of the truck, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said in a written statement.

“The domestic situation continued between the operator and Mr. Henry,” according to a police statement. Henry “came out of the back of the vehicle” about six-tenths of a mile from the house, police said.

Henry was believed to be in critical condition after the wreck, the Bengals said in a statement on their Web site. Police said Henry underwent treatment at the Carolinas Medical Center hospital in Charlotte.

Charlotte is the home of his fiancee’s family, the team said.

The 26-year-old receiver has played for the Bengals for five seasons, but has been on the injured reserve list after suffering a dislocated forearm during a November 8 game against the Baltimore Ravens. The 6-foot-4, 200-pound Henry caught 12 passes for 236 yards and two touchdowns in eight games before being hurt.

Taylor Lautner will become a personal trainer if his acting roles dry up.

The 17-year-old actor – who plays the werewolf Jacob Black on the ‘Twilight’ film franchise – has reportedly qualified as a fitness instructor because he’s worried about job security in the future.

A source told America’s National Enquirer magazine: “His self-esteem shot through the roof when he bulked up for ‘The Twilight Saga: New Moon’ and he wants other people to experience that feeling.”

Taylor reportedly took up personal trainer courses online for $200 and finished them on November 22.

The actor – who often appears shirtless in the vampire movies – has since become a heartthrob and found himself inundated with female fans.

Taylor has reportedly realized what great advertising this could be to his future career.

The source added: “He wants to open up his own workout centre one day.”

The US star – who put on over 30lbs for his part in the film – said his motivation for the muscle gain was the “movie and the fans”.

British actor RUPERT EVERETT wishes he could cancel London’s Olympic Games in 2012 – because he thinks it will turn into “a very expensive disaster” for the capital.

The My Best Friend’s Wedding star is dreading the sporting event coming to the U.K. and fears it will add problems to the already “dysfunctional” city.

He says, “If I was King, I would cancel the Olympics tomorrow. I don’t like the Olympics anyway. I don’t think they’re very sporting and I think London is already dysfunctional enough as it is. I just think it’s going to be a disaster, a very expensive disaster.”

The comments come after Dame Judi Dench slammed British government officials earlier this month (Dec09) for cutting funding for the arts to pay for the upcoming athletics extravaganza.

The ‘Mean Girls’ actress, who is on probation for a driving under the influence conviction (DUI), was ordered by Judge Marsha Revel that her classes must now take precedence over everything else.

Speaking at the Superior Court in Beverley Hills on Tuesday (15.12.09), the judge said: “I am going to order that this has to be done. It’s been long enough.

“This has to be a top priority whether she has a job somewhere else or doesn’t or something else comes up. This has to be done once a week.

“Right now, the other things will take second place and this will take first place.”

Lindsay has a deadline of July 15, 2010, to complete the six months of programme time.

In October, Lindsay was ordered to a Beverly Hills court amid rumours she was not complying with the court-ordered alcohol education lessons.

Gossip website TMZ claimed sources running the course contacted the court about Lindsay’s conduct and that she has been “outright violating the terms of the programme”.

Lindsay famously served just 84 minutes behind bars in 2007 before being placed on probation after pleading guilty to two counts of being under the influence of cocaine, and no contest to two counts of drunken driving and one count of reckless driving.

The actress and clothes designer has been in India recently filming a TV series about human trafficking.

The actress also revealed she relies on her iPod to get her through working on a film.

The ‘Nine’ actress always creates a soundtrack to help connect with the character she plays in all her movies and only listens to a limited selection of songs to help keep focused on what she is doing.

She explained to Parade.com: “It helps me very much to have my iPod. It’s always with me on the set. Music is very important to me because it goes directly to your heart. I always have, like, 20 songs that I pick for the character, and that’s all I listen to while I’m making the movie. I try to stay in the zone and not let my attention be distracted.”

Zac Efron threw girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens a surprise 21st birthday party on Monday (14.12.09).

The actress thought she was going out for her first legal drink with her boyfriend at a Hollywood restaurant, but he had instead made plans for 100 of their friends to join them at East Restaurant and Lounge.

A guest at the party said: “When she walked in she was completely surprised!”

Revellers including Ashley Tisdale, Selena Gomez, Brittany Snow, and Corbin Bleu greeted her, and DJ Zen Freeman played a mix of hip-hop for the night.

Zac also gave a heartfelt speech wishing Vanessa a very happy birthday and encouraging guests to have a fun night.

A source said: “After she blew out the candles she made a sincere speech thanking everyone again and expressing her love for her family and friends.

“Then the DJ spun Kid Cudi’s remix of ‘Poker Face’ and Vanessa danced with her friends.”

Ashley, Vanessa’s ‘High School Musical’ co-star had previously taken to her personal Twitter page to wish Vanessa a happy birthday.

The Hollywood couple – who began dating in 2007 – have decided to call time on their relationship but sources insist the break-up is amicable.

One said: “There are no other people involved. The relationship just ended. It just fizzled. But they also wanted to be careful and private about it because of Reese’s kids.”

Reese – who has two children, Ava, 10, and six-year-old Deacon, with ex-husband Ryan Phillippe – and Jake were rumoured to have split two weeks ago but their representatives insisted they were still very much together.

But after spending some time apart, they realised the romance was over.

The source added to E! Online: “They needed time to figure it out and they were on different coasts. When they were finally together, they talked it out and decided they’re not going to be together anymore.”

Embattled rap superstar LIL WAYNE will spend St. Valentine’s Day (14Feb10) in a prison cell – he’s been ordered to begin his year-long sentence for gun charges in February (10).

The Lollipop hitmaker, real name Dwayne Carter, pleaded guilty to charges of second degree felony of criminal weapons possession and criminal possession of a loaded weapon, following his 2007 arrest in New York, when cops found a firearm on his tour bus.

He reportedly struck a plea deal with prosecutors in October (09), after initially pleading not guilty, in a bid to cut down his time behind bars.

Carter appeared in Manhattan State court on Tuesday morning (15Dec09), when a judge ruled the hip-hop star must start his prison stint on 9 February (10).

The date falls one week after his new album is due for release – Rebirth is set to hit U.S. retailers on 1 February (10) after months of delay.

It is not yet known where Carter will serve his jail term.

The prison sentence will be the start of a tough year for the rapper – he’s also due to stand trial in March (10) on drug possession charges following an unrelated arrest in Yuma, Arizona in January 2008.

A source tells the publication, “Kate has told model agency bosses she wants to be at the heart of the fashion world. She loves Paris and always stays at the Ritz whenever she’s in town. After 34 years in London, Kate feels it’s time for a break – and cannot wait to immerse herself in the Parisian way of life.

“She found a gorgeous penthouse apartment in the most fashionable part of town – and immediately put an offer in, and paid the requisite deposit to hold it. The plan is for her and Lila to move in spring. Initially it will be used as a weekend getaway but she then has the option to move there full-time.”

The TV star-and-concert promoter says his late friend became obsessed about his looks and should have stopped altering his face after his first few procedures.

He said: “He had great looks to start with and never needed to do anything, but the plastic surgery was an obsession.

“He took it too far, and I think he realised that later in life. The surgeon should never have done any more after the second nose job but people wanted to keep him in the fold, and that was one of the big problems in his life.”

Michael is believed to have undergone multiple cosmetic procedures during his lifetime, including several nose jobs and cheek and chin implants. He also had tattoos on his lips, eyebrows and scalp to improve his appearance.

Gest, 56, also revealed he blames the medical staff surrounding Jackson – who died from Propofol intoxication in June – for enabling him to become dependent on prescription drugs.

Writing in a British magazine, Gest – the ex-husband of Liza Minnelli, who was also a close friend of Jackson’s – said: “It’s not surprising that he got addicted to pills. I just wish he’d had the right people around him.

“The truth is that some of the doctors around him were more interested in being his friend than making sure he was OK medically.”
