Charlize Theron has revealed the bizarre nickname bestowed on her by former co-star Jeremy Renner.

Apparently the South African actress goes by the name of “Ass-Nuts” when she is in the company of her American friend.

As to the origins of the moniker, Charlize is keeping hush hush. All she will reveal is that it stems from a boozy evening.

The 34-year-old actress starred alongside Jeremy in 2005’s North Country.

She told E! that the name stuck after the cast went out for a few drinks.

“I can’t tell you what transpired, but let me just say I found a friend for life in Jeremy, and he has ever since then referred to me as Ass-Nuts,” Charlize said.

She added: “I wish that was a joke, but it’s true.”
